Magazine Wall Scroll: World Tree

Welp, when I finally rushed home to get these pictures uploaded and saw the site coming up with an error message I nearly had a heart attack, but it's working so phew!

This is my first challenge entry, and actually, the first pictures I've ever posted lol.  I made a resolution to stop being such a cronic lurkey turkey.

The World Tree, as done with Sears Catalogues.  ((I also found a mattress topper I want!))

Filling in the blanks.


The whole thing, everything but the original piece of paper is done out of catalogue, including the rods at the top and bottom. I realised I am definately colour blind when tired.

The scroll is going to be hung up in my mums cubicle at work, which should be nice because she actually works for the environmental faculty at one of my local universities

Was really fun to get all collagey with the colours, it's something I wish I had an excuse to do more often.

this might sound odd but i am voting for yours because i wanted to do some picture like this and didn't get a chance... but then you did it... and also i think you have a good technique and it turned out nicer than mine would have been, because i haven't done this type of thing for literally decades so i am 100% out of practice.

sort of relieved somebody did a collage in this style, because i really wanted to see mine and so this is just as good.  or, actually, like i said... better.

I'm lucky my mom puts up with my messy messy craft piles lol!

I'm also lucky my neighbours didn't call the cops thurs night when I was working on this...a giant beetle came skittering (like literally, you could hear the clacketty clack clack) across the floor outside and I shrieked louder than I thought possible.  Pretty embarrassing, but holy cow that thing was...so BIG...ugh.

Originally I'd thought I would do the entire thing out of 1x1 inch squares, but then because of time contraints, free forming was the way I went, the tree was the only thing I did with any real shape in mind for the pieces I cut out.

and thank you everyone for your kind comments!! I'll have to make sure I take pictures of some of the other stuff I've made lately and make some posts.
