Help!!!  I need input!

I made up these 2 quilt top designs on my computer.  They are virtually identical except on has white sashing and borders, and the other as black.  Both have pink binding.  I am partial to the white sashing and borders, but want to get some outside opinions before I sew it up.  The "fabrics" I made are meant to sort of represent the ones I am actally using, they're not pics of the actual fabrics.

The Black one:

The White one:

Thanks for your time!

Black! I love the contrast and the way it makes the top-right and bottom-left corners' outside points look rounded.  Smiley It really lets the pink pop out instead of subduing it, and doesn't seem overly bright to me the way the white one does.

My vote is for the black one, too.  Love the way it lets the pink seem more saturated.

I'm gonna jump on the black bandwagon too, it really sets off the other colours.

I agree that the one with the black sashing really pops but the white one is equally pretty. I say go ahead and go with the white one. It's pretty but in a softer way.

I like the black too, but it sounds like you prefer white! Go with whatever your gut tells you, that's what makes quilting fun Smiley I'll never be in your bedroom to see it - lol.

I'd say go for the black for two reasons

1.  The white makes your blocks much more "op-y", and just from looking at the mock-up on the computer screen I'm starting to get a migraine  Sad  If that's the effect you're going for, go ahead, but the black binding makes the whole thing more comfortable to look at.

2.  You're already making a statement choosing hot pink and black, using white dilutes this.  The black highlights a play on your positive/negative space better, whereas the white just shows a set of alternating blocks.

Thanks for all your input!! I am going to go with the white.

1. I actually already have a ton of really nice white fabric I could use.

2. I think the black would fade over time and be ugly.

3. I like the rounded corner effect the black gives, but the fact that its only on 2 corners bugs  my OCD.

4. The pinks in my actual fabrics aren't as "hot" as these here, but if I made them lighter, you couldn't see enough contrast to get the idea that there were 4 different fabrics in the circle.

5. The sashing on the black almost disappears, and I might as well just sew all the blocks together.  I can really see the separation with the white.

Oh well, I really do appreciate the input, and I will be sure to post the finished quilt when its done!  Or at least the top of it!

I'm going to buck the trend here, and say I prefer the white one Smiley
