Beautiful!  I'm super jelous.  Did you make the dress then attach the layers to it, or is it composed of just the layers?

breemonkey , I sewed on the layers. Thanks!

Thank you, laughsforfree! It is beyond easy, I promise. I bet you could just show it to somebody who can sew when you do get married and ask them, I'm sure they could do it. Just have them copy a pattern from any A-line tube top dress and sew on some ruffles. Smiley

VERY CUTE!  You did an awesome job replicating that dress!

I vote you gather the sash widthwise (like in the original) and attatch it to the dress.  I think with all the volume, it's important to define the waist, so I don't know how it would work without a sash, therefore, you should make it part of the dress.  Also, it'll help cover the seam in the back.

Again, fabulous job!

I literally just bought this exact BJ dress this morning. If I had known it could be made for ~$40 I would've thought twice.

Amazing job. It looks exactly like it!

It's great!

As far as the sash goes, I would probably gather it like BJ's and sew it to the side seams so the back is totally loose. It will look more natural when it's tied that way.
