Hi. I've been so busy swapping lately, I've been kinda absent from this board. I thought I'd jump back in and show the new microscope slide pendants i've been doing lately.
First one: Laugh on one side:

Dream on the other:

Second one: Pear on front:

Plain Green on back:

My favorite: A ship on the front:

8 of Hearts on back:

The ship one was actually a vintage playing card. I didn't even need to double layer it to make it two sided!
Just for fun a clickable close-up of the front of the ship:

And finally: a peacock feather one I made for the OWS 46 Swap for bkrenning4 (picture stolen borrowed from her) Smiley

Whaddya think? (besides that my pics are too dark again!) Wink

These are great!! I've seen ones with cut glass, but microscope glass just looks so neat and clean and I love the shape!  And that ship one is so pretty.  It reminds me of a ship my grandfather had hanging in his bedroom for years because my mom thought it was too ugly to hang in the living room... I loved that ship.  I've been wondering what that was people have been wrapping around the glass... Doesn't it have something to so with soldering?

Some people do solder the edges and eventually I wanna learn how to do that.  I got the slides from Oriental Trading and they also had metal foil tape in copper, gold, and silver. It's not the actual copper foil tape they use to solder, but it sticks to the edge nice and I fold it down over all the edges. I didn't trust it to hold the slides all by itself, so I actually glued the slides together first.
