A skirt made from $3 of fabric purchased at Goodwill.  Possibly not my color, especially with the green hair.  But very good for spinning around in.

I purchased a rolled hem foot for this because I couldn't stand the idea of ironing the hem (which is at least 7 yards) in the 80+ degree weather.  Rolled hem foot for the win!  It was wonderfully quick, and the hem is very neat-looking.  Beyond that it's just a lot of rectangles, gathered, and a drawstring waist.  Very, very simple.

Looks so nice and summery!  Good work!

Glad to know you like your rolled hem foot.  I just bought one, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

In the heat that skirt is going to be so cool.  Love it.  I've got a similar hem to do, so I think I may have invest in a rolled hem foot.  I hate hemming manually anyway!

Goodwill find fabrics are awesome.  I love my rolled hem foot.  Totally worth the cost.  I don't know what I used to do before I bought it!

How long did the gathering take Smiley

Thanks for your comments!  The gathering took a while, but it wasn't too bad since I did it while talking to people or watching movies.  I didn't actually gather it by machine. I pinned it by hand so it's actually pleated about every 1.5 inches.  I divided each piece in half, quarters, etc. when pinning so that it'd be even.

I'm guessing her hair is dyed with Manic Panic's enchanted forest, which is a beautiful deep turquoise green, like this:
but when it fades, or in certain lights, it looks electric blue or cyan...

(for instance, with the first photo I had to get substantial colour correction because in the photograph my hair was prussian blue.)
Anyway..enough thread bombing..the skirt is magnificent! I love the colour, and I think you can wear it with your hair..just have a colour that compliments both your hair and the skirt for the top you wear it with.

Nope, punky colors turquoise, sometimes with various other shades of blue or green mixed in.  Another picture:

It is bluish-greenish, but not really consistently one or the other.
