Baby is here - at long last!!

I used the expired 2008 Ikea catalog (in Canada - it may be different than the one in the US).
The idea came to me because Ikea has such great prints on rugs, slipcovers, bedspreads, etc. and I figured some of those would make nice shirts and pants and skirts.  Actually, the first piece was the red skirt, which came from the corner of a photo of a sofa - I didn't have to alter it at all and it looks just like a skirt.  I decided in the end to just put all ten outfits on a canvas so I could hang it up somewhere.  I'm so happy with the end result!

If I had been thinking, I would have kept track of the exact names of the products I used to make each piece, but I had to go back through the catalogue and find them after I had already cut things out, so there is only the item description, rather than Ikea's name for each thing.
(From top left to bottom right)

Outfit #1: Shirt: quilt cover, skirt: sofa
Outfit #2: Floor lamp
Outfit #3: Shirt: lampshade, skirt: quilt cover
Outfit #4: Shirt: quilt cover, pants: rug
Outfit #5: Shirt: laundry bag, scarf: rug, skirt: lamp
Outfit #6: Shirt: plate, skirt: cushion cover
Outfit #7: Shirt: duvet cover,  skirt: lampshade
Outfit #8: Shirt: picture, pants: bed tent (children's Ikea)
Outfit #9: Picture
Outfit #10: Shirt: Ikea fabric, pants: box

This is amazing, such a creative idea. It doesn't look like a catalogue at all. I love Ikea so this is right up my alley.

I thought that lamp had such a nice feminine shape to make it into a dress - I hardly had to change the shape at all!

haha that's really cute! the Ikea prints are so great... they should start a clothing line. I love how you used the shape of the lamp for the dress, and the red skirt - it's really effective.

adorable! This is fun for a wall art, but also it made me think of making home made paper dolls as gifts for little girls. So fun!
