so we just moved into a new apartment that needs some serious work. (but we like fixer-uppers so that's okay!) however, I'm sort of clueless about what to do with the bathroom.

The shower has one of those molded plastic linings (with the built-in shelves). It has become discolored over the years and there is some minor damage, and even after many scrubbings it still looks, well kinda gross. there's no way we're going to get a new one. (our landlord is not very concerned with aesthetics).

I though of buying some large vinyl decals to help distract from the color but will those stay up in the shower? Has anyone ever tried something like this or have other ideas?
I don't want to spend all that money and then have them ruined in a week.

Any and all help is appreciated!

You could find out if you could paint it and use some pool paint or a waterproof anti mildew paint to cover the mess. never tried the decals but hey may not stay on in the moist environment. If they are removable it wouldn't hurt to try though.

I just found this web site:

Maybe this can help. I just glanced at it but it sounded like what you were looking for.

thanks so much. i'll definitely look into it. it'll either be that or the auto decals (which i assume would be waterproof).

Yeah I looked at the auto decals as well and they probably would work but you may not have the same freedom to make what you want. Have fun!
