This is my very first project post, and I finally thought I made something good enough for Craftster! It's my boyfriends birthday tomorrow and he said he didn't want anything. So, what's a crafty girl to do? Make him something, of course! He is zombie obsessed! He loves to play Left 4 Dead on xbox 360 and he has even got me into it. So I thought it would be fun to make him a total zombie gift.

I made him the Hunter, who attacks people by jumping on them and completely rips them apart. Gross right? But the game is really awesome! To make the doll, I bought the book "Doll Fashions" but the patterns in it were for an 18" doll, so I had to cut the pattern in half and I took different clothing patterns from Craftster and Google to make him complete.

First, here is the reference picture, http://www.left4dead.be/wp-content/gallery/l4d/l4d-boss-art-hunter.jpg

and here is my zombie!

To make it more manly and not so much as a doll, I made an action figure box for him. It's a painted shoebox with the front cut out and cellophane put in the middle. The box art is from the game cover and pictures on the internet. The back also has the Hunter's abilities and a description of it.

Since we are in a long distance relationship, I don't get to see his reaction when he opens it but I hope he loves it. It was sent out today, all wrapped up with zombie sayings and designs on it. Thank you all for looking! Comments would be great, good and bad =]

and just for fun...

Thanks everyone! My boyfriend loved it and said that I am never allowed to make another for anyone else haha. And I have been thinking about making the rest of the zombies for future gifts, but I'm not sure how to make the patterns for the sizes of the zombies. How would I make a larger zombie like the boomer? Any suggestions?

Thanks again for commenting! Grin
