I have made paper bowls like these http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=71395.msg671168#msg671168before by coiling paper strips but this is a little different.  and probably the last because it took so long. The thing that cracks me up is that Lands' end finally quit sending them to me-I was getting one a month.  So I picked these up while walking through Sears. This bowl is made from about half of a   catalog cut into 1 1/2 in. strips and folded into 1/4 in. strips with about 1/2 in. of fringed edge. Scotched taped ends of strips as I coiled them around. I mod-podged the bottom as I went.  Some pics of the process...

folded strips with fringe

the inside before a jillion layers of mod podge

the bottom

the legs are small coils stretched out, mod podged, and filled with hot glue.
It's hard to tell, but the inside is quite smooth which was what I wanted.

could have been an interesting hat.

and one for scale

Well...maybe I'll have to make more with the other half of the catalog. Hope I haven't put you to sleep.  Thanks for looking!

Wow, that is really inventive. I've always seen smaller bowls, but nothing to this awesomeness.

That is really cool!  I've seen paper bowls before, but not like that.  The legs are a cool idea, and I love the fringe look on the inside.

I love the fringe on the inside!  normaly all you see with a bowl like that is rings, I like the contrast of a round dish with little squares inside.  well done!

The fringe-y squares add something to it; it's not all stripes. Gives it a lot of extra personality. Really nice job. Smiley
