I painted this Malma mirror for the recent Cheer Up Swap. My partner received today, so I can finally post! I call it the "Bluebird of Housiness" mirror because I used a House, MD quote. It says "Everything sucks. Might as well find something to smile about." Wink

I printed out the words in the font I wanted, then taped them on top of the mirror frame (which I had already painted purple). I traced the letters really hard to make indentions for a painting guide. I did the same thing with the bird, except my printer had died, so I sketched the bird from some examples I had seen online. I painted with acrylics and then outlined with regular ol' black sharpie. When I was done, I sealed it with Satin Mod Podge (my best friend).

Before outlining: and a close-up on the bird:

This was my first Malma mirror, but it won't be my last!
