So, I bought a jersey dress awhile ago, which never fit right, so I deconstructed it into two shirts! The first one is the cowl-neck top of the dress, but underneath that was a grey undershirt, and I had lots of extra fabric. I've been drooling over all the shirts at J Crew with the deconstructed ruffled necks for awhile, so I made this:

(shown with my first-ever jeans to jean skirt project!)

I lengthened the shirt with some of the extra fabric, and made the ruffles with the extra fabric over strips of grey taffeta to give it structure and let a little shiny come through sometimes.

Close up of the ruffles:

I'm pretty excited! I didn't finish the edges of the ruffles, so it'll be fun to see how it changes over time and gets more unfinished looking.

That's a really cool top. I like how you used the taffeta to back your ruffles, that's infinitely more interesting than just doing the ruffles alone. Smiley

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.
