To fail is to try in the first place.

Using a balloon covering with layers of wet plaster bandages, a used sticky tape cardboard ring for the base, then painting and sealing with varnish to complete.  These are a few samples of what we produced.

These plaster bowls are cool bits of art, but also have some uses such as wrapped candy dishes, or for cosmetic cotton balls etc - basically anything that is not too heavy to smash the delicate plaster.

Just going to upload a pic to the gallery!

Forgot to mention that some of the bowls were decorated initially with coloured strips of fine tissue paper to make a very bright candy strip effect.  These were sealed with PVA between new layers.  These bowls were very much stronger than just the painted ones when finally varnished.

Love it, but how did you get the inside so shiny and colorful?

That is metallic paint - acrylic type base and quite dense with the metals.  I love the finish with it - although it does tend to highlight surface imperfections more than matt finish does.
