Hello

I am moving to Orlando and was wondering if anyone knew of any crafty groups or get togethers I can join. I am moving there by myself and will not know anyone. I am looking for a good group to hang out with I am in my mid 20s, I sew but would like to learn to crochet or knit.

I've lived in Orlando all my life, but I've never heard of any groups for people our age. I know they probably exist, but I don't know how to find them!

But I'm in the same boat as you... I want to learn to knit or crochet! We should start something if we can't find anything!

Sure If you want to get a group together maybe we can try ourselves. Or do other crafts. I am heading down there next week.

Gals!

Here are some knitting groups you can try.... the age group varies from young college girls to Grandmothers but all very welcoming and friendly and since we all have a common interest the age differences just melt away!!

Loosely Knit
Borders on 8285 Red Bug Lake Rd, Oviedo, FL  from 6-9 PM on Thursday nights, also Friday mornings (10:30 is my guess but I'm not sure)

Yarn Therapy
Infusion Tea at 1600 Edgewater Dr. Orlando, FL  Tuesday nights 7-9 PM

East Orlando Fiber Arts Meetup
Barnes and Noble -Waterford Lakes 481 N Alafaya Trail Orlando, FL
2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month  7PM to close

The "Happy Hookers"
(crochet club)
Thursday nights at Panera Bread in Fashion Square mall (East colonial Dr. Orlando)  Not sure of the time on this one, it is probably 6 or 7 PM

Hope you guys grab some yarn and needles and join us!

Has anybody put a group together yet? Huh

(I saw the knitting ones but, well, let's just say my knitting is strictly limited to scarves. Very basic, very simple scarves. Cheesy )

I was wondering if the Yarn Therapy group is still current...  I moved to the Orlando area about a year ago,and I knit and crochet, and other various crafts.  I have a craft habit.

I'm hoping this group is still ongoing, because I love Infusion Tea.

Hope to hear from you ladies soon.

Hello

I am moving to Orlando and was wondering if anyone knew of any crafty groups or get togethers I can join. I am moving there by myself and will not know anyone. I am looking for a good group to hang out with I am in my mid 20s, I sew but would like to learn to crochet or knit.

I'm brand new to sewing but I'm in a group of people that meet every Sunday at 6pm at the Borders in Altamonte Springs. We get together to crochet, knit, chat, etc. I would love to add sewing to the topics we chat about. More info at http://www.meetup.com/Apopka-Yarns/

There's also a place in Maitland called Sip & Knit that has a weekly get together on Tuesdays from 6 to 9pm.

Sip & Knit
150 N. Swoope Avenue
Maitland, FL 32751
407-622-KNIT
http://www.sipandknit.com/
Tues. 12-9, Wed. 12-5, Thurs. 12-8, Fri. & Sat 12-5, Sun. 11-3
