New pendants, I got a printer to make my own decals a month or so ago, it's been so fun to play with!

Some new dichro pieces-

Copper in glass-

Pocket vases-

and some slumped bottles-

and my new baby!!!

Questions/comments welcome, if it's about decals, you need an HP laser printer that used iron oxide, or mine's ferrite, in the toner, and special waterslide decal paper.  Grin

I am so envious.  I almost had a Kiln once.  It was being shipped to me when I lived in California, but the guy who was moving it for me as a favor left it outside in the rain and it got destroyed before I ever got it.   Cry  I love what your doing.  The beads are really nice and the bottles on the wall are lovely.

Amazing work. I love them all. You look like you are having a blast and you have the knack for glass.  I'm jealous.  Tongue  I am saving up to get a kiln. Did you start with that one in the picture or did you upgrade?

Love your pendants and especially the wall vases! I was so excited to see the saranac bottles! I grew up in NNY and went to college in Utica, their root beer is one of my favorite things in the world Smiley I think I'll be spending some money on your etsy Smiley

I'm not sure if you meant the special printer had to be used for sing decals this way or for making decals in general, but I looked up waterslide paper, and found several sites that carry it, and they say it works with regular printers.  But of course, they weren't going into a kiln later!

Yes! For printing for the kiln it needs to be specific printers, but for printing waterslide decals that are not being fused you can use other printers!!

Thank you everyone!  tried to throw it all in at once an not fill the world with a bunch of separate posts, I already thought I was busy, but filling the big kiln is a whole other animal! And now that's what I'm getting back to!

Glass is amazing, I REALY want to see where I'll be with it in 5 years, or just 6 months, right now I'm trying to make ceramic molds for the big kiln, and there are just so many stages to getting everything prepped and ready and then multiple fusings, aaargh, need to get back to work, gotta get my bio-mom from the airport in 2 days for our second visit after finding each other last year, and get the house ready after the kiln is full!
[so forgive me if I don't pop back in for awhile Tongue]

Did you ever speak to him again?! What an ass, I'd still be upset!

how do you get the holes in them for the jump rings and everything?

a small diamond drill bit with the glass covered in water, with the Dremel or the flex shaft attachment on my multi grinder, depending on Amelia/if I can get to the basement for the grinder-

Cheesy  I think I must have spent at least 15 hours between buying the 2, it was so hard to decide what I wanted, especially the more I was spending. Not to mention the panic attack over the hubby and a friend carrying the big one to the basement!

Cheesy I wish I had the space to have one.  I love the wind turbines.

My little Caldera is only about a foot square on the outside, a Firefly is a similar size too, and a few are smaller! And quite a few smaller and medium glass kilns can plug into a regular outlet, although it should be dedicated just to the kiln, made my lights blink before we got the Caldera on it's own circuit, while we were getting the house re-wired anyway.
