My hair is super hard to deal with (check out my icon picture), that is how thick my hair is naturally, no teasing or whatever except its even longer now!!
and i want to cut it short because its so hard to deal with plus its so hot in the summer anywayz!
but i don't want to cut it and have the stereotypical "afro".
this is me (i don't even know if short hairstyles will look good on my long narrow face)

i wish my hair could look something like this....

but even if i cut it, it will still be curly...and that will look weird
anyway bottom line....Do you crafters think that I can pull off a short style and if so, what should it look like??

well from those pictures I think that you would great with short hair. you could probably easily pull off the shaved look too, although that'd be a pretty dramatic change.

you could always  cut it somewhat short and use hair relaxers, although those are pretty bad on your hair if you get if done at a salon it would be that bad and than you could do looks more like the ons pictured.

or you could go the opposite way and use curl enhancers and since you're familiar with top model maybe you could do something like Eva's hairstyle..

Nevertheless I think your hair is great now but you would look great with short hair too..
I hope this helps somewhat

Holy woly!  I just had my friend at school cut my hair like naima from top model.  I was so obsessed with her hair!! It doesnt look the same, because one of our instructors came and screwed it up before we even started, trying to show my friend some razor technique....it sucked.  oh well it grows.  And WOW I love your hair!!!  It is super rad!!  I think you could cut it short, but would definatley have to have it relaxed, and even then would have to flar iron it everytime you wash it.  Its too bad I dont live closer! I would do it all for free, I love hair!!!  You could cut it really short and have Bantu knots, I think those look really cool, and you wouldnt have to relax your hair cause they work better on highly textured natural hair anyway!

I love your hair.  I tend to like having long hair because of the versatility of it.  You have hair like I had before relaxers, it's starting to thin out now as I get older. I've stopped relaxing it for about 3 years.  I think you could pull off having short hair.  You could try to gradually get your hair cut shorter each time you get it done. That way you can see the changes and what you have to do style it in different stages.

I say NO RELAXERS. You should be proud of your hair, dark skinned people have curly course hair and we need to learn to love it. Try going short, I loved mine. If you hate it it'll grow back.

yeah and plus there are so many cool things you can do with naturally textured hair, like the twists and knots.  I think natural high textured hair is so much fun to play with, but then again that is probably because my hair is total opposite.  I didnt mention but you can always do the bantu knots with your hair long, they will just be bigger, which may look pretty damn cool, and also it gets your hair up and out of your face.  They are easy to do.

most of these were done with braids, but you dont have to have braids to have them.  just to give some exsamples.  I think they are so cool!!  I think Halle Barry had them for a while.?

lol..wow Liquid we really are so in sync!! i wished you lived closer too so that we could rock our japanese street stye and matching hair!!  Grin
YOU HAVE TO SEND ME A PIC!!!

and as for twists /knots/ braids...that was basically how i lived during the last two years of highschool, esp. cornrows and twists. i was actually thinking of locing it for awhile, but locing requires alot of upkeep...

and hawaiilove...i'm not really into the idea of relaxing my hair. it was relaxed in the beginning of high school and it was not fun!! and it took forever for it to grow out! and i am very proud of my hair, but its just hard to deal with! i was hoping that when it gets longer the weight of it would actually make it lie flatter, but the thought of actually letting to grow longer!! eep!
