I made this blanket for my father-in-law. I have been promising him a blanket for about a year. The pattern was easy enough, my only complaint was that there were a million ends to weave in. The pattern was from the May/June '09 issue of Crochet Today!

All together there is 121 pieces and I used around eight skeins of yarn. I used Red Heart Super Savers just because I wasn't sure if I would like it and that is what I had on hand.

It is isn't very big, but I did add an additional forty pieces in hopes that it would be large enough. It is a 63 inches square.

The main reason I picked this pattern is because of the nifty edge.

Our dog, Ava, loved laying on the bottom of this blanket when I was piecing it together. I have some extra motifs so I think I will make her a little one she can have in her bed.

As always feedback is always appreciated.  Any thoughts about the color combos? I really like it but it has gotten some mixed reviews from the son, husband, and brothers.

So pretty.  I think it will make a great doggie blanket because the motifs look like little doggie bones. Cheesy

For some reason the color combo reminds me of Rocko's Modern Life! And that is a great thing  Grin

LOVE the color combo. Very clever way to make Red Heart look sophisticated and expensive.

and the pattern is CHARMING! but manly charming. All in all, utterly wistable
