Iíve shown my water bottle holder here before based on Pink Chalkís tutorial. I changed the pattern & made it my own. Since then Iíve been thinking that people who use it would prob need a pocket for carrying their cell phone or whatever, so after much thinking & ripping, here it is Ė a Water Bottle Holder w/a Whatever Pocket:

I then thought what about using contrasting fabrics for the pocket?

What do you think?

I prefer the second version. But they are both really nice!  Smiley

I like the colors of the second one. The design is really nice! I really could use one of these. I'm always trying to juggle a water bottle, my cellphone/keys, and a dog leash. (well not actually juggling  Cheesy)

My dimensions are 11" x 6 3/4". It is basically a long rectangle that's folded in half lengthwise & gets pleated on the ends. Iron the pleats on the side, then sew the sides before you sew the bottom.

To make the contrasting pleat, you cut & sew the sides w/contrasting fabric & finish as above.

Be careful of what fabrics you use. The blue one (Japanese, slightly textured cotton) was thicker than the orange (cotton) & I used double interfacing. It was really hard to sew thru the pleats.

Wow, this is super cool! I love the practicality of it. I would love something like this to carry around a beverage and like a camera or something when at Walt Disney World. Very neat, totally wisting!

Too cool!  I might have to try it - is yours very different from the tute you posted?  I'll have to see about making something like this - having one for me, the hubby and each kiddo for trips to Busch Gardens over the summer could be really good!

You did a really nice job on this bag...but I had to tell you, the first thing I thought was "did somebody make a golf club bag?Huh?"  that side pocket really made it look like a golf bag to me.  lol  Nice though...those side pockets are difficult sometimes!
