I'm always looking for trinkets (pencils, buttons, stickers or something different) that can be imprinted with my business name that I can include with my orders or give away at various functions.  I'd prefer ones that allow you to order in lots smaller than 1000 or even 500.

also, I look for companies that have above average customer service and are able to communicate the approximate lead time and shipping date on orders and/or reply to emails when I inquire as to the whereabouts of my order when it's past the estimated arrival date.  I've had some frustration with a couple of places in the past over this.

So let me know what's working for you!

Good question udandi!

I guess you could think of the purpose of these things as:

1. something the customer will enjoy and will therefore just get a good feeling about ordering from you
2. something that gets your name out to others

I wonder what items do both?

I kinda like the buttons that you get when you order from here:
http://www.happyluckyme.com/
They are something I'd put on my messenger bag anyway because the expressions are cute.  And if someone leans in to take a look at them, they see the company name.

I'll keep thinking about this 'cause I'd like to know for my own crafty biz...

ooh. I just had a thought while I was packaging up an order...

I wonder if there's a company that will make little pads of paper with your company name and logo on the pages.

You could throw one in with an order and then when your customers write little memos and hand the pages out, your name is out there!

I'll post the info if I find a company that does this.

hi!  you can definitely get little sticky note pads with your logo.  do a search for "promotional items"  or "promotional companies".  there are tons!  i used to work at a university and we had sticky note pads made up with the university name on them.  people love them and they are so useful!

i saw yesterday (if you goggle search lip balm containers) there is a company that will make 100 lipbalms with your company logo with customized colored caps for i think $30
thought i would throw that out there - or of course you could make your own lip balms with your logo but i think this would be less time consuming!

I used a company called Silver Screen Design http://www.silverscreendesign.com/  a couple of years ago when I needed appreciation geegaws for a group I worked with and they were very helpful and fast.  This was for a university program, though, and while their website says they do stuff for businesses of all sizes, I can't vouch for them that way.  They do have a whole lot of things to choose from, anyway.

http://www.showmylogo.com does note cubes and sticky notes, along with lots of other promo dealies.  Though I have no experience with them, so I don't know if they're decent or not.

thanks for the info!

I've got a local guy looking for good prices and stuff that's less than 500 pieces since even if it's $.50/piece that's $250!  Shocked

I've also contacted Contagious Graphics about stickers since they do 250 and up.

who doesn't need a magnet?  Grin

I've order buttons from busybeaver.com Busy Beaver buttons. They are great indie people who do all the work themselves. The prices are very affordable and they are also making little mirrors with your image on the back.

I've gotten stickers from thestickerguy.com. For $25 you can get 500 stickers that are one color and in a few smallish sizes. He says it can take up to 8 weeks to get your order, but it took me 4 weeks to get the last two orders I placed. Again it is an independent company.

It all depends on what your business is, but there are always bookmarks, postcards, and I'll come up with some more ideas later.

I think it's a great idea to send along a personalized item when sending out a package.

I plan on doing this, and have been checking out prices. (I will be getting buttons as well!)

A good source might be a company that does promo items for local businesses. I've checked out one here in Toronto, and pencils and pens, in very cute colours, start at about 40 cents each (Canadian). There is a 500 minimum, but I think they will last you a while! Then you can also use them as a giveaway at craft shows and other events.

If you sell a product that is more expensive, you can  have something more expensive. I saw where you can have friendship bracelets made with your logo on them! Very cute, but expensive. Or just send a few pencils!

cinnachick, I think the website is www.busybeaver.net, not .com - and you're the second person I know who has recommended it - I'm definitely gonna use them next time!
