My first glass post - lampwork

I've been more involved with the purse forum here on Craftster but thought it time to introduce myself here. Besides a ton of other crafts, I make glass beads and jewelry. I've been in withdrawal because we haven't re-built my studio since we moved at Christmas, but hopefully we'll get to start in the next couple of weeks.

My pictures are somewhat chunky, so I decided to post thumbnails.

This guy was my last "big" project before packing up my shop (he's probably about 2" tall)

I love glass chains and was just curious to see if I could make a byzantine chain out of glass. Talk about a PITA!

This is one of my all-time favorites! He even has a little skull murrini in the front of his bridle

Another favorite. This one is a couple of years old.

Edited to add: Hmm. I don't know why when you click on my thumbnails someone else's work shows up in my gallery. I do have other things in my gallery, but with these glass thumbnails, none of the rest of the stuff is mine...

I love the dragon.  I can only imagine how much trouble the byzantine chain would be; I can picture broken glass chain links all over if I tried it.

Ooooo.  I love, love, love your little dragon.  He's adorable.  Your other works are great too. 

As for the other pictures in the gallery, they are probably just bleed over from another gallery, since you don't have many pictures up.

Thanks guys! The chain is more tedious than anything; make a link, set it aside. Make new link, add previous link, close new link, etc.

If you are interested in learning about glass, you can start out for around $100 - $150 (I think that's still what the starter kits cost). There are plenty of kits and books out there, even if you don't have any local classes. I'm always happy to answer questions if anyone wants to know where to look. I love encouraging future pyros!

Wow, these are incredible!   

I like that BP bead . . . did you name it that because it's the BP gas station logo colors? 

I get other people's stuff in my member gallery too . . . it's really annoying.  But if you just click on the member's name, you get the right stuff. I think that the stuff across the top is just uploaded photos in the order of when they were uploaded, regardless of who uploaded them.

I saw the dragon marble one in wists and had to track down the thread since I saw it was from Craftsters - amazing work!
