Here's the quilt I'm working on: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=294877.0

I currently have: Bert, Ernie, Oscar, Big Bird, the count, Grover, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Zoe and Elmo.

I need one more. I want a more obscure character... here are my ideas:

The Honkers (http://www.sesamestreet.org/onair/characters/honkers for a pic or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89sFEuEuTYM to see the Honkers perform with Yo Yo Ma!)

The Twiddlebugs (http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Twiddlebugs for a pic or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2wme1Uhyhg&feature=fvw for a video)

Guy Smiley - http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Guy_Smiley

Snuffy - http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._Snuffleupagus

My vote is for either the honkers or snuffy--the honkers are super appealing to kids, and snuffy is a classic.

As much as I like Guy Smiley, I see him as more of a "muppet show" character rather than a "sesame street" character.

Mr. Snuffleupagus of course! I didn't know he was obscure, but he was always my favourite. Smiley

No Sesame Street quilt would be complete without precious Snuffy.

I love your quilt.

I've got a handful of vintage patterns up for trade/swap (1950s/60s): Monograms, embellished bags, men's robe, lace work, spats/bags, bell bottom, mod dress.  PM if interested.

I would go with Mr. Snuffeupagus from that list but there are other characters that I love:

The new one "Abby Cadabby"
http://www.sesamestreet.org/onair/characters/abby_cadabby

The "Two-Headed Monster"

or

"Mumford the Magician"

I thought about Mumford! And my friend Abbey wants me to do abby cadabby so bad! But she looks too hard, plus I feel like I need a boy to balance out the girly  Zoe. Two headed monster is tempting too... I was also considering Telly. <shrug> we'll see what hits me at the last minute!

Abby is my name (minus the "e") so that's why I thought of her right away. I think you can't really go wrong; so choose whichever is "du jour" for you.

I can't wait to see this quilt!
