So I got this GORGEOUS fabric from Hayatiggs in the March Birthday Swap.



As you can see, it is VERY floral! It's a Laura Ashley upholstery fabric and I LOVE IT! The boyfriend is less than thrilled about the print, which he likes to remind me about (in a loving teasing way, of course).

So what to make??? Well how bout a skirt!



I used BurdaStyle's Marie for the waistband. I took it in a bit already, but there must be 2 inches of ease in that pattern! I'm holding it up in the pic, so that it looks how it should, which makes my top half look funny Tongue

PLUS! It's my first ever blind-hem and I'm sooo happy with how that came out Cheesy

Ooh, I love that fabric!  Great idea to do the gathered waist - it's ideal for those stripes.  Just gorgeous.  I love the shape of it too.

Excellent! I'm always afraid to use florals but that is one loverly cut of fabric! I think it is wonderful work, looks better than store bought!

Oh my ! My Mum had that fabric in her room when i was a little girl!  Cheesy how funny!

It looks MUCH better as a skirt i have to say! Good job!
