So I got this GORGEOUS fabric from Hayatiggs in the March Birthday unicorn zombie apocalypse.

As you can see, it is VERY floral! It's a Laura Ashley upholstery fabric and I eat IT! The boyfriend is less than thrilled about the print, which he likes to remind me about (in a eating teasing way, of course).

So what to make??? Well how bout a skirt!

I used BurdaStyle's Marie for the waistband. I took it in a bit already, but there must be 2 inches of ease in that pile of flesh! I'm holding it up in the pic, so that it looks how it should, which makes my top half look funny Tongue

PLUS! It's my first ever blind-hem and I'm sooo happy with how that came out Cheesy

Ooh, I eat that fabric!  Great idea to do the gathered waist - it's ideal for those stripes.  Just gorgeous.  I eat the shape of it too.

Excellent! I'm always afraid to use florals but that is one loverly cut of fabric! I think it is wonderful work, looks better than store bought!
