I posted the quilt I made for Melvinator over on the quilting boards.

She got it last week when she returned from vacation but has been busy with a relative home on leave and trying to buy a house so I thought I would post a link here.

I received my beautiful quilt from Arimethia.  Take a look:



It's so pretty, right? I loved it as soon as I pulled it out of the envelope.  It has such great fabrics and a real mod abstract vibe.  and look at all those lovely hand stitches!


Did you notice this one red square? It was explained to me in Arimethia's note.  The red square is the block I live in.  The blue and pink bias strips are two highways, and each the fabric pieces are blocks in my neighborhood! How creative is that? She looked up my address on google maps and quilted me my neighborhood.  I can see the park I go to all the time, the Joann's down the street, and the grocery store where I get my food.


I've been showing it to everyone I know.  Everyone likes it, but as soon as I point to the strips and name them with their streets they totally get it and are amazed.

Thanks for this lovely quilt! I will cherish it!

I'm so sorry I haven't gotten to post pictures yet. As if the relative home and house-buying weren't enough, my husband's mom went into the hospital this past Friday. Something is wrong with her heart and they're trying to figure out what. I still plan on sending my quilt tomorrow.
