You did an excellant job with the bag and the tute.  I make a lot of bags using this same method. Just a couple of suggestions you might like to try-- I  add an interior pocket or two, a velcro closure (sewon, no stick on), and a bottom for a little more shape and strength.  It keeps the bag from looking saggy when it is full.  I use a piece of foam board between the outside and lining and use a darning needle to stitch through all layers of fabric and the foam board at each end to keep it from sliding around.  These are things that people have indicated they like in the bags I make for them.

haha coke o nut, that's so ironic! i didn't even see your post. great minds think alike, eh?

skn725- thanks for the suggestions. i usually do pockets, but just not on that one. i have been trying to find good bottom material for support, but i haven't found anything good yet. i'm not much of a velcro person, but my next purse i'll try a zipper or a tie. thanks!

That tutorial rocks, heatherfish!  Very clear and easy to follow!  Nice job and super cute tote.  That sweet lining fabric reminds me of ice cream . . .
