thanks to everyone for all the comments!  I had fun making these guys 
I noticed that the blue for their belts was a little wet when I applied it, and of course they bled into the skin part as they dried.  I think next time I may try and make the belts out of fondant.
Anyway, here's a pic of the rice press I used as the cutter.  For some of them I added the topknot, some I just left.  I think they are recognizable either way (?)



I made these today and want to know if you can tell what they are, or if it is just my strange brain that thinks they look like what I think they look like.

Well, I never thought I'd say this, but those sumo wrestlers are pretty cute!  Unless, of course, that's not what they are.  In which case, never mind.  (But I'm pretty sure they are, right?)

well after i went "ooooooooooooooooooo ooooooh how cute" i showed hubby (normally not the most observant of men) the picture. his comment.

I wanted to make decorated cookies, but couldn't decide what to make.  I had this "food press" from the dollar store.  It's supposed to be for shaping your rice I think.  Anyway, when I looked at it, it looked like a fat sumo guy to me.  Thank goodness it looks like one to all of you too!
