So I haven't worked with a pattern in - i don't know.. 10 years? (Home ec.. I made a skirt, it was hideous). I've always kinda freestyled things.. tried them on, taken them in, here, there, whatever.. So this was my first time using a pattern, which I got at burdastyle.com for $4. It's the Azalea.. except i made it with jerseycotton so it was heavy as a 2 layer, so I cut out the bottom layer. I didn't finish the seams/hems/straps because I decided I didn't like it enough to bother.. but anyways..

That is way cute.  I need to work myself up to making a dress.  I'm still on pillow cases and aprons...

I think your first dress is beautiful. I wish I could do something like that. I am not that patient. XD

Its pretty and I like the fabric.  Haha at least you've tired patterns, I can't seem to get myself to attempt anything wearable.

The black accents are really dark against the light dress, but other than that, this dress is really cool. Try pairing it with a pair of dark jeans and some long necklaces -- I think you might find that you rather like it.

I like it! Finish it up...don't let it be an unfinished object.

My best friend saw it and decided she wanted it, so I'm going to finish it for her.

I wouldn't say I'm patient.. in fact, I'm really very impatient - to the point where I didn't do the hemmings or finish it properly  because I just.. lost patience. Same with lots of things about it - I could have done better.. things just look a lot prettier in my mind.

I actually love the black/light contrast.. I'm obsessed with the monochrome look so that's exactly what I was going for. Glad others liked it.. I think next time this will go a lot faster.. I def wont be doing it in Jersey again!

The dress design is really one of my favourites.

You've done a great job! The cloth you have chosen looks great together!
