That's what I was thinking, don't worry about pre-washing! Sounds good all around then Smiley Just getting to updated profiles and feedback right now, it's been a long day.

MareMare- did you get my revised questionnaire with my new theme?  It hasn't been updated on the first page yet.  I completely understand about you not wanting to type too much.  But if you haven't received it, I can send it again.

As for pre-washing.  I wash all of the fabric I purchase shortly after I bring it home from the store (makes it less confusing that way).  I plan on sending Batiks and don't want them to bleed.  Shocked

I am on the fence about this one... I am worried that I would not have enough material in my stash to come up with enough for 30 pieces of material unless it is an i spy or a Halloween one - and doubt I'd be able to get enough in the stores to get it all to coordinate - and buying fabric is not an option right now.... I just went on a HUGE fabric shopping spree as if I really needed any more....

Is anyone up for an i spy charm pack?  I could totally do that up!  I'm sure I have that much novelty fabric in the closet - and then some!!  I want to make some i spy quilts as well.  I am working on a series of quilts for charity(cancer ward at a nearby hospital that my son's teacher's son has been in far too often in the past year) so i spy would be great for those as well.

I swear that I won't send Walmart fabric - although the strip swap that was a requirement and I saw one strip made entirely out of fabric that I personally bought at Walmart.... but oddly enough I do actually remember where and how much I spent on supplies.  It amazes my friends to no end - so I'm sure there will be no Wally world cotton in my stash..

And I actually do wash all that I get before it goes in to the closet.  I hate shrinkage.  Is that a problem?  Sounds like I am in the minority that I actually do prewash everything I buy before it goes in the craft room....

so it turns out my fabric is backordered anyway... so however you slice it, I'm out of round 1!  I might try to organize round two early in July then.

Here's a taste of what I've got: (because these are too pretty not to share! and I'm kind of a photoshop ho)

Crafty Deb, I would so love a I spy charm pack!  Not to be ignorant or anything (well, I guess I am about this), but what's so bad about Walmart fabric?  (Other than their dollar a yd. stuff)
Chimes, I am so disappointed you can't be in this one.  I adore your fabrics!

Thanks! That's okay. I signed up for the heavy metal swap and that is super intriguing. I figured the charm pack swap is something I can do in round 2  which works out anyway since about 4 of my fabrics are backordered. I've got a stash, but not as cohesive as the new stuff...plus, I wanted to build a stash with some new pretty fabrics. Smiley

That looks gorgeous chimes! We can definitely do another round later in the summer, maybe international that time since a couple people have expressed interest.  And hon, you have to have 2 completed swaps in your profile before you can organize.  :p   Ooh, how did the craft fair go??

Just my 2 cents~After buying nice designer quilting fabrics from fabric stores, I can't hardly touch walmart fabric (not that I ever used it, I hate walmart) or any other super cheap fabric. It just feels very thin and/or coarse and I just don't want to use something that poor of quality in something that will around as long as a quilt.

craftydeb~there were people who used walmart fabrics in the strip swap, which was supposed to be only good quality quilt shop fabrics, and there was a long survey for each participant in the end and feedback left for those that didn't follow the rules.
