Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed!

A couple of weeks ago my sister asked me to draw her a German shepherd's paw print with a Gemini sign, standing for our/her dog and her star sign. I never thought she'd go and get tattooed at all.

She got the money for her birthday, and today she came home with this:



To know that something I made will forever (or at least for a life time) on someone's skin  is just so...wow...

I was wondering, though I don't know if I should ask here, how much would a small (3cm or so) triple moon filled with celtic knots, on my wrist, hurt? And how much would it cost? If it were white (is that possible)? or would blue be better?
I'm thinking about it alot, from seeing so many on the forum

Tattoos cost goes by many factors. Some of these factors include 1)Size 2)How many colors are used 3)Where on the body it will be as some parts are harder to tattoo than others 4)The amount of detail in the tat.... blah blah blah. Best thing to do is got to the artist and ask for a quote but DO NOT base your decision of who to choose by price. When I went around choosing an artist I sent emails with an attatched picture to different artist with details like how many colors(Mine was greyscale), the dimensions I wanted it...basically everything you would tell them when you get it. My bf lived 3 states away so I sent emails to different artist in different states as they were all possibilities. Shockingly I got the same exact quote from everyone (I had two tats quoted as they were a pair) $100 and $120.  It was nice knowing that they were all honest and weren't trying to rip off a newbie who didn't know any better. So I recommend doing that. Just incase you have someone who is ripping you off.  Anyways, unless you know someone who tattoos you can expect it to cost $50 and up. That price is pretty standard and typically starts with a very small, black tattoo with minimal detail.

Pain level is different for everyone. Some people fall asleep, some cry as if they had just been mugged... Though for the individual person this is a good guide and I would say fairly accurate. I got my stomach done which is a 5star. I wasn't in much pain, but then again I have a high pain tolerance. But the chart still is accurate because if I got the wrist it would hurt less for me, but wouldn't be bad at all compared to the stomach. For people with low pain tolerance a wrist tat could make them cry but the stomach would make them pass out. If you are scared of the potential pain you can do a few tricks to reduce it. One is to take ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. Also schedule your appointment in the morning as that is when most of you endorphin's are running wild.

Just a note. The size of tattoo sometimes has to be bigger so be prepared for that if you are stuck on the design. This is because you will lose detail overtime. Ever see tats on someone "seasoned" where you can't even tell what it is anymore? Yeah, just that. You will thank them if they say it needs to be bigger in the long run. So don't get too attached with the sizing.

And most importantly, Have Fun! It is a big moment. Everyone remembers their "first time"...well some don't but usually alcohol is involved 

The wait will end sooner than you think. I had my design for over ten years before I got it done. I was always a kid who loved tats and piercings. Oddly enough it took until I was 21 to actually get it. It was a long wait but I waited for the right moment to get it from an amazing artist that I was comfortable with as a person and in his skills. You may be anxious but make sure to be smart about it.  Otherwise your tat may be on one of those "Pics of horrible tattoos" websites

this is my very first tattoo I went to the Seattle Tattoo Expo and ended up with this beautiful work of art. I had the space needle and the roots drawn out but my artist added the clouds and rain. I absolutely LOVE it and get complimented and get asked to take pictures of it all the time. Even tho I didn't grow up in Seattle it's always felt like home to me. I moved there at 17..as an awkward teenager and didn't know who I was as a person. I grew into myself there.

I found some cool silhouettes on t'internet & thought it'd be cool to have them on my feet, as I'm a bit of a history buff & I love the 19th century, so this seemed perfect for me
