These are the tattoos that I have that I've designed.

The first is a rat tattoo I was inspired to get after having a dream about getting a similar tattoo involving more balloons and hamsters, and it looks pretty much exactly like the drawing I did that its based on:

And the other tattoo, which is actually two tattoos I guess since they're on separate feet, is swallows that I designed. While these are based off of my drawings and pretty accurate as far as the line drawings go, they definitely have the style of the artist who did them written all over them. She's very old school, so the coloring is very reflective of that. But that's a good thing, because she is awesome, and I like to think of them as somewhat of a collaboration Wink The tree swallow (the teal one on my right foot) is flying along with a branch, and the barn swallow (the blue & red one on my left foot) is flying along with a USB cable. Sort of a nature vs. technology theme, something that I think suits my personality to a T, as I do love the outdoors but also love my interwebs.

I like designing my own tattoos more than anything, and have many more planned  Grin

thats amazing that you had a tattoo inspired by a dream!! i love all your tattoos and i agree - designing them yourself is half the excitement of getting one done. have you designed any since?

I got my first tattoo in July 2007.  I am so in love with it.  Because of where it is, I forget its there and then all of a sudden catch it in a mirror and fall in love with it all over again.  It's a cat symbol that my dad draws on all my birthday and christmas cards.  Almost like a signature.

I'm still deciding on what I want next and where.

I just went this past weekend and got a new tattoo, and i am ABSOLUTELY in love with it!!!!!

My cousin passed away a few months ago, so i got this quote that makes me think of him.... its from "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar..."  its Ms. Noxema Jackson's quote

"larger than life is just the right size..."
with Eddie's signature under it

I thought this up as a way to commemorate both my dear crafty Grandma Norma, and my own love for embroidery. Norma was a tough, sweet and creative lady. She lost her husband and had to raise three young kids on her own, later she beat ovarian cancer, and later still she was my wonderful Grandma. I inherited a lot of her art supplies when she passed, including some lovely embroidery hoops. I became interested in embroidery long after she had gone, but I think of her every time I do it because I know she'd be tickled by it.

This was done by Steven at TCB in Toronto. He's a super hillarious dude who made the whole experience really fun.

All bloody. The red of the wood grain was blood, not ink if you can believe it.

And here she is all healed up and for placement sake

It makes me feel pretty!
