After my fourth miscarriage 2 years ago, I came up with an idea for a new tattoo.  I asked my sister to draw it up for me and she never did, so fast forward a year and a half later at my 6th miscarriage a friend at work made up my tattoo for me.  Well, 6 months later my best friend had a friend come to my house to finally give me that tattoo, for free, turns out my original simple design is what I went with instead of the detailed one my co-worker designed.

Ribbon is for pregnancy/infant loss awareness and butterflies are the symbols of lost children, hence my 6 butterflies!  I love this so much, perfect!

You can see in the first picture part of the tattoo on my shoulder.  My best friend and I have matching tats, they are the Claddagh with a celtic knot band on either side.  We designed this ourselves during a tattoo expo in Pomona, CA about three years ago.  Here is a picture of it after the three year old (best friend was pregnant at the time of the tattoo) drew on my arm with markers, you can see the tattoo through the markers.

Ok, I'm going to apologize now about how pic heavy mine is gonna be, lol. but here we go.

this is my newest one on my right arm. this picture is from a couple days after it was touched up. it's my 3 yr anniversary present.

this is my fifth (and sixth depending on how you count them) one. My dad got it for me as a Christmas present. The colors of my hands aren't that different, it's just two pics I put together.

here's the pacman/cherries bracelet on the inside of my left wrist. I've had this going on 5 years now.

I'm so proud of my family and where I come from. this is my 3rd tattoo, it's my maiden name on my neck.

My second tattoos is a rose a very good friend drew up for me with my nickname "Niecie" in the center. It's on my right shoulder blade.

And my first tattoo ever from when i turned 18 is on the inside of my right wrist. and it's very cliche and looks like a wig from the 50's, lol.

Finally got my first of many! I went to Heather at Tattoolicious in Waikiki,Oahu,HI; She was great! ok so worked with her to get the final outcome - but it was pretty close to my original design.  Smiley

If your ever in Hawaii (Oahu, Waikiki) and want a tattoo, Tattoolicious is a great place! Clean, friendly staff, great artists!!

I designed this tattoo myself, shading idea provided by my cousin's husband while I was down in North Carolina visiting. He has over 24 tattoos and understood when I wanted to personalize my first one.
It's an ankh with two roses. The ankh is the Egyptian hieroglyph for "eternal life" or the symbol for the Egyptian fertility goddess. I love the whole meaning and the doctors aren't a hundred percent sure I can actually care children and be able to walk afterward. So I like to think of it as a goodluck symbol...

I got it done at Inkslingers in Jacksonville, NC. I really recommend them as artists.

Everyone's tattoos look so great!  I can't wait to add to my collection Smiley

If you're ever looking for an artist in Asheville, NC, I got both of mine done at Liquid Dragon, and it was fantastic.  They have a number of skilled artists with varying talents (ie, the girl who did the fine detail on mine, to a guy who does portraits).

So about a month ago, my mom, my brother and i all got semi-matching tattoos. We all got our signs done! My mom got the Gemini symbol tattooed on her left calf, my brother got the Capricorn symbol on the back of his neck, and got the Leo symbol in between my shoulder blades!
i was the only one to have designed mine myself, but not only does it represent my sign, but it also represents music, and how much it is apart of my life.

thanks for looking!
