I love octopus tentacles and just the look of them and have finally found a reason to make these earrings. Well sort of...I made them for the OWS46 and now I have to make another pair for me!  Cheesy Made from sculpey clay.

I do dabble in polymer clay a bit, I just thought it was more appropriately posted here. Maybe I was wrong lol.

For anyone who is thinking of attempting this its actually really easy, just a bit time-consuming. I just rolled out a log of clay tapered towards the end and flattened it a bit to have somewhat of a flat surface to adhere the tentacles to. Then (this is the tedious part) I took a darker shade of blue clay and rolled it very very thin and made tiny rings which are the tentacles. I pressed them on gently, starting small and working my way up. I didn't worry about pressing them on too hard because I knew after baking I was going to put the glaze over it which would prevent any of the tentacles from popping off. After applying all the tentacles I very carefully bent the log into a twisty tentacle shape and inserted the metal ring.

Not too hard. Just a test of one's patience  Grin
