You will need:

appr. 70-80 cm strapping
70-80 cm fabric as wide as the strap is
160-180 cm bais tape
a parachute clip
a carabin hook

Use a match or lighter to melt the ends of the strapping so it won't raffle.

Sew the fabric strip on the strapping. Sew as close to the edges as possible.

Now sew the bias tape on both sides.

Take parachute clip and pull a piece of bias tape through one side. Place the bias tape between the two ends of the strap. Sew the two ends of the strap together with the bias tape in between. Using fabric glue wrap a piece of bias tape or ribbon around the ends.

Attach the carabin hook to the other end of the parachute clip and sew it together.

Absolutely adorable! How durable are they? For what it looks, they would stand up pretty well, am I right?

I will definately be trying this to get one to match my new purse. Thanks so much!

One of my friends promised me something similar to this for Christmas, but I have yet to see it Smiley  I only have my car key (no other keys on a ring) so it is constantly getting lost in my enormous purse.  She thought I could attach this to the key and the strap on my purse and then I would be able to just yank out the strap and there the key would be!  I'll have to make one of these.  Thanks so much!

So simple but these look great and would make excellent mini gifts for someone, to go inside a matching bag.

Thanks for the tute, will definitely have to try this out.  Grin

They should be quite durable because the strapping is strong material. They make good little presents indeed. I gave one away yesterday as a birthday present and she loved it. Hope you have fun making them!
