welcome roxy!  Smiley  It's going to be a long haul for me... no matter how hard I try, this grey stuff isn't going to swatch to size.... I like the idea of using sugar and cream, so I think I'll pop off to wal-mart in the next week or so....

how is the sugar 'n cream working out? i'd love to try kyoto in sugar 'n cream, but i read in another thread that worsted weight yarns wouldn't work well for this project.  Undecided

so far so good...it probably would be better with a better brand, but I'm a "baller on a budget" ...lol.

I'm 3 rows away from finishing the sash.  It looks nice, but when I have some extra $$$, I'm going to try it with the tahki cotton classic.

sorry for asking so many questions, but what size needles are you using with the sugar n cream to get the right gage?

Susan Bates size 6 circulars.  So far so good...still haven't found my camera's battery charger to show and tell progress  Huh

Anyone have photos to share....I did get new ink this weekend  Cheesy  So I'm happy about that.

Ask away...that's what we're all here for Smiley

hey everyone, i started the kyoto over a year ago and ran out of steam (i have the sash and back done). i need to get this bad boy done! mine is a carbon copy of the original on knitty. (im never this boring, honest).. but i had this amazing thought regarding the pattern. why not knit the sash last... picking up stitches around the completed top? i think the sash would hang perfectly this way. too bad i thought of it too late for me.

Hi Londonne!

I think for my next kyoto...with better yarn, I'm going to do that...makes more sense that way.  Here's another thing
:
The only bad thing about knitting in the evening is following directions. I just finished the sash, and decided to double check on how I did.

Knitty's instructions:
Rows 1 & 2: *k1, p1
Rows 3 & 4: *p1, k1

Here's what I did...
Row 1: *k1, p1
Row 2: *p1, k1
and continued that way instead of every 2 rows. oh well...guess it's a good thing that I didn't buy the better yarn.  I was wondering why mine looked "different" than that on the website.  Still haven't found our camera's charger...I'll post as soon as I do, though.

Please feel free to post as we go along!  Grin
