so it's study leave (AS Levels - eek!) and i hate revising!!
So i decided to make a skirt to go to see Girls Aloud in cos my friend blagged me some tickets (ON THE FRONT ROW  Grin)

It was really easy and fun to make, just got 50 cm by 150 cm rectangle, gathered it, then a waist band and a pocket.

front (i put gold paint all over the fabric with an [old] toothbrush!)

front in front of my cupboard cos the pictures look real busy with all the leaves AND the skirt pattern

heart pocket (that weird white blob is my hand...)

I drew a heart on some paper then cut two out in the fabric with seam allowance. I wanted the pattern on the skirt to be vertical and then on the waisband and pocket horizontal, which meant the waistband was done on the bias. I thought this would be a good thing so it would be stretchy, but it ended up not being quite flat!

pink zip (bit messy  Undecided)

action shot of me looking crazy on a hill!

and the BIG SECRET? The fabric's the wrong was around because i prefered the back to the front  Wink

Girls Aloud in all their fashionable glory: (cheryl was stacked!!)

I hope ya'll like it
I kind of used a pattern of burdastyle, except they said use an elastic waisband, which i something i do not own.
i was also inspired by... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=208648.0
i think i'm going to put heart pockets on EVERYTHING now! it was so useful- just the right size for my phone  Smiley

I've made skirts just like this, but I've never considered funky pockets! Great idea and cute skirt!
