I'm a little scared to start this thread because I am such a spinning noob.  Here are a couple of simple single plied ones.  I'm sorry I didn't name them... maybe I could get some ideas from you folks.  These are merino and I dyed them myself.

steph-blue those are pretty! Will you be making something with them?
I laid awake in bed last night thinking about Fiber Friday - how silly is that? I have some bfl that I spun last fall that I bought some threads to ply it with but now I'm thinking of making it a single. It's been in a center-pull ball for so long I hope it's still workable. It's been hot here so spinning has stopped until my boyfriend decide to turn the air on - otherwise I'll just get covered in fiber.

I love the red one!

I finally have something new to share! I spun these about two weeks ago, but since then I've been stuck in the middle of a move.

Summer Day:
Spun from a BL with bits of bamboo, soy silk, and sari silk. 25 1/5 yards

Super Crazy Explosion of Fun!:
Spun from several mini batts including bamboo, soy silk, and merino wool. I haven't got the yardage yet (have to do that this afternoon!)

Not Named Yet:
Spun from a Wensleydale roving, yardage unknown yet! This was my absolute favorite thing to spin, and it's the most even yarn I've spun yet!

Teeny Tiny Little Thing (haha, this one doesn't really need a name):
Spun from the most beautiful green batts ever! I had a lot of trouble with this one because I had never spun from a batt before, but picked the most complicated one I had ordered to start with! Yardage unknown, probably not more than 10 yards though!

Have a good weekend everyone! I'm going to a fiber festival tomorrow!

Okay. Let's try this again.  For some reason, it wasn't taking my images.

Anyway, as I was saying:
steph blue, you are off to a great start.  Those look fabulous; I want to pet them.

shortern, your yarns look really squishy.  I really love the colors in that teeny tiny little thing.  Gorgeous.

I have a few new yarns to share.  Haven't posted for a while since I had a bunch of stuff on the bobbins that needed to be plied.  Finally got around to finishing them, so here they are:

I call this one Tutti Frutti.  My first attempt at navajo plying, which I totally adore.  It's about 4 oz, and 175 yards or so of merino.

My second attempt at navajo plying, with some baby camel/silk fiber from Foxfire fibers.  Yum!

I call this collection of yarns Ghost Stories.  They use the same base of mixed grey fiber, with 1 yarn plied with natural white alpaca, 1 plied with itself, and 1 plied with natural black alpaca.

Hi Everyone!
Beautiful yarns this week!!

I haven't spun much this week because I have been dealing with a terrible bout of vertigo.  Anything spinny made me dizzy.. my carder, my wheel, scrolling the computer screen..  It's been awful!

I did manage to get a couple done.. and we got a new camera this week, so I'm just loving the 12x zoom and macro function!

This one will stripe (w/4 repeats) in bold pink, blue and green, with natural brown shetland in between each one..   There's TONS of sari silk and sari silk waste in all colors.. so the striping may be subtle..
Mumbai Nights (yardage not measured yet)

I carded up a batt of black merino, with TONS of rainbow angelina.  I made some freeform felt nubbies by putting handfuls of scrap fiber into a mesh bag, and washing it on hot with soap.
I corespun the batts, adding the felt nubbies..
Rock Show (no yardage yet, but almost a lb skein!)

Finally, I spun up some yummy enchanted knoll batts thick and thin, with a metallic thread candy striping.  I then plied with a yellow rayon thread
One Fish, Two Fish (yardage not measured yet)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Inie_Rah, I love Tutti Frutti! Also I'm currently doing something very similar to what you did with Ghost Stories...although I only have one skein done!

So here's my first yarn from my wheel that is NOT for practice and I'm loving. Cheesy

Cool Spa #1, 4oz merino, 220 yards, somewhere between fingering and DK (still too lazy to do wpi, so I'm eyeballing lol). The fiber came from about 10oz pencil roving which the seller had named "Cool Spa," which included a light grey, medium grey, and a sort of icy-sea blue. This one is the blue and medium grey, and I'm going to be doing the other color combos after this.

Also this was my first time plying from two singles. The ply is very uneven, but hey, I'll get there. Tongue

jazzturtle - I'm totally in love with One Fish, Two Fish!

oddacity - Cool Spa is gorgeous - I'd have never thought of putting those two colour together but they work so well!

Well, here are my offerings for the week...

Aqua - 114 yards of BFL - roughly fingering weight:

Monet - British Merino spun from some Artist's Palette roving:

Time to spin some more methinks...  Grin

This is a little late, but it was in a swap package that just arrived today.  And I can't wait until next week!

Rainbow!  Merino!

the yarn...  It's got two color repeats per approx. 3 oz skein.

dyeing:

I did 2/3 of an ounce fiber for the main colors and 1/3 oz for the in betweens.

carded:

I divided each in half, so that each skein was made from just one set of batts (if that makes sense?)

single ply:

Then it was navajo plied to keep the sequence.
Certainly the hardest yarn I've done... but, I'm pleased!  And my swap partner is too.  Cheesy  Here it is in use:

gorgeous! I HAVE to make something like that sometime...I loooove rainbows so much and they way you spun it (and your partner knitted it up), the colors change exactly how I imagine a rainbow yarn should. Cheesy lovely!
