I couldn't figure out which category to post these in, so I decided to go with housewares. The backstory: my partner and I like to play Scrabble, but we never have the time or patience to sit down and play a whole game, so we like to leave the board out on the table and play a turn whenever we get a chance. The problem with this set-up is that it's easy for your opponent to accidentally see your tiles when walking around the table, since they're just sitting out in the open. So I made a pair of personalized Scrabble cozies to go over each tile rack when they're not in play. Problem solved! Some pictures (click on the images to see bigger versions):


Front view. I embroidered our initials on them so that we could tell which tiles were which.


Side view, to get a sense of the structure.


I added the loop at the top so it would be easier to pick the cozy up off the tiles.


The cozies are lined with a coordinating fabric. Both of the fabrics are glittery!

such a clever idea. i always get that fear of peekage when my opponent gets up to use the bathroom/get a drink etc. also sparkly fabric just ROCKS
