I couldn't figure out which category to post these in, so I decided to go with housewares. The backstory: my partner and I like to play Scrabble, but we never have the time or patience to sit down and play a whole game, so we like to leave the board out on the table and play a turn whenever we get a chance. The problem with this set-up is that it's easy for your opponent to accidentally see your tiles when walking around the table, since they're just sitting out in the open. So I made a pair of personalized Scrabble cozies to go over each tile rack when they're not in play. Problem solved! Some pictures (click on the images to see bigger versions):

Front view. I embroidered our initials on them so that we could tell which tiles were which.

Side view, to get a sense of the structure.

I added the loop at the top so it would be easier to pick the cozy up off the tiles.

The cozies are lined with a coordinating fabric. Both of the fabrics are glittery!

such a cute idea! At first I really couldn't understand why the tiles needed to keep warm Tongue

This is great.  Now I know that I'll be playing more scrabble.  Just cover it up, and come back when there's time.  Ingenious!  Great work.

These are great!  I think I need to make my in-laws a set.  They'd be perfect for bathroom/snack/drink breaks.

Thanks for the kind words! They have been in use for a few days now and they're working like a charm. Now if only he'd make his move so that I can go ahead and put my seven-tile word down on the triple-letter score... :-)
