SIMPLICITY AT ITS FINEST!! Great, inexpensive idea!

Exactly how long did it take you to make this? Is a box cutter the same as an exacto knife? I can't even cut a straight line through cardboard with one of those.

Thanks! It took me a couple of hours because it was the first time and so I had to work out kinks. I also hand sewed everything, but it would have been much faster if you just glued the seams (hot glue).

A box cutter is a stronger knife than and exacto. Try whatever works for you. I've used pocket knives before (I would use that before an exacto for this project, their blades have the tendancy to fall out)

My tip for cutting good lines is to trace a guide line, then score lightly along that line so you have a little "track" to cut along.

Here's my version. The pic doesn't really do the fabric justice - it's a really pretty light purple and the inside is hot pink. Great Christmas prezzie for my purple crazed niece! Thanks for the tute!
