I used the "Soon Come" pattern from Get Your Crochet On: Hip Hats & Cool Caps.  The book has great instructions with clear photos which was a great help for a beginner like me.  I used a bulky wool blend yarn in several colors that I have had stashed for a few years.  The hat turned out too big (because of the bulky yarn) until I washed it with hot water for a cycle or two.  Now it is perfect!

On to the pictures!

I love the way your cap turned out. I have been wanting to make one but not felted. I am wondering before I get the book with the pattern did your cap have that nice flat back to it before felting? All the caps I see like this are very round all the way around not like yours. I will have to purchase the book because we live very far from any libraries so I just want to make sure. Thank you

Thanks!  Smiley

You know, it does look pretty rounded in that last photo, but when I put it on, the back sort of flattens out because of the way you attach the brim to the front.  It was just more floppy (and huge) before felting.  I plan to make another one of these soon but with the appropriate kind of yarn this time!  I'll have to let you see how it comes out.

I really like this, you did a wonderful job.  I love the colors and I think it looks great felted.  I have a couple patterns from that book that I've been meaning to try, I think I will now!
