Over the winter and quite a bit of this spring, I've been busy reconstructing shirts! My very favorites are Threadless tees-- I love their prints. So here's what I have...

I became obsessed with keyholes for a while, and made several shirts with them. This one has a scoop neck, the aforementioned keyhole, and little tabs on the bottom sides.

My family took a trip to the Grand Canyon in April, so of course I jumped at the chance to take pictures of this shirt. It was too perfect to pass up!

I loveloveLOVE this print. So much. It's called "Liberty" on Threadless, and the bird glows in the dark. :) It has a (rather low) ruffled bust and a ridiculously long cut.

This one is a lot like the first shirt, but minus the tabs, and plus puffy sleeves & an antique button.

Ohh, and then there's this one, it was called "Foxy". I made it into this tank, with black details and a triangle thing on the side with a pocket. I had a lot of fun with it, just trying new things.

Finally, I had this yucky granny dress from the 70's. It had belonged to my friend's aunt, and my friend and I--we were about 10--jumped at the chance to get dress up clothes, disregarding how they looked. 7 years later, it was still hanging in a closet in my house, so I pulled it out & made it pretty for the same friend's birthday present. She loved it! It's so awesome to give clothes a second life.

Before:

After:

It has shirring in back, and a cross-over style bust. The shirring had been on the original dress--I love incorporating those details. :)

Thanks for looking!

Wow!
Those Recons are gorgeous!

How on earth did you redo the necklines and the sleeves on the 1st tee?
Was it a pattern or pure unadulterated genius?
They are:
1. Beautiful
2. Really professionally done!

Anyhoo, congratulations on making a bunch of really awesome outfits!

Great tops!
And I love the dress. I went to a thrift store and was about to buy a crazy mom-dress to make a cute dress out of but I didn't. Now I wish I had.

That is such a sweet comment. Thank you! On the first tee, the scoop in front & the sleeves were freehanded, just cutting until I thought it looked right, haha. But for the keyhole, there's a really really great tutorial here: http://www.whatthecraft.com/tuts/key.html I love jersey knits because you can usually just play around  with stuff & make it work for you without being terribly precise!

Oh I love them all. My favorites are the dress and the Foxy shirt. I love threadless too, and I loved that shirt but I hated all that extra orange space. You really fixed that great!

I love all of them!!
I think the question is not how did you do the neckline and sleeves, but how did you get them looking so PROFESSIONAL. I always mess up trying to do a trim like that. Do you attach it like binding, or more like a cuff?
