The dress is so beautiful, you have made a timeless piece.  I hope every one knew you made it yourself, because there is no way they would know it wasn't professional.  Congrats on a beautiful dress, and a beautiful you to put in it!  Oh and congrats on getting married, my hubby and I just celebrated 12 wonderful years.

Fantastic!!! That really is an incredible dress.

Did you use a pattern?  If not did you draft one, or just try things out?  How did you figure out the bodice pleats?

So gorgeous and so worth your time!  This is beyond fabulous.  I wish I was sewing when I got married so that I could have made my own dress also.  Hopefully you will have a girl who can grow up and wear the dress that her mom made.  Smiley

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for, if I have a daughter.  Wink

Wow! Amazing dress. I love the one shoulder design and the view from the back. Perhaps you should think of making wedding dresses for a living.
If I get a chance, I'd like to work in the bridal industry.
But on the other hand, it must be scary to make someone else's dress.
If I mess up with mine, I can just go ahead and buy one or change the style a little bit, but I must finish the dress without a flaw in time. Still, it must be fun, right?  Roll Eyes

Wow!  Your dress is absolutely amazing, I love the asymmetrical bodice!
I really admire your dedication, it must have been so stressful to plan a weeding AND make a dress.  You did an awesome job.
Yes, it was very hectic, and I guess I gained about 7~8lbs at that time because of the stress eating. But luckily, I have a very helpful hubby and sister, they helped and comforted me a lot.

Thank you. I didn't use a commercial pattern, but I draped it on a mannequin and then modified to make it better fit on my body.
