Not posted here for a while but I when I saw these two pillow cases in the Dollar store (now $1.25 store shock horror) I was compelled to try out a bag tutorial I'd seen around and been desperate to try.

Anyway, here it is, not bad for $2.50 plus a few buttons I had lying around, the perfect bag for Summer, slouchy and big enough to carry the summer essentials.

The shoulder button detail

The inside pocket and lining

Here's the tute in case you want to try it yourself, it was easy peasy and took me 40 mins if that; http://tinyhappy.typepad.com/tiny_happy/2006/06/shoulder_bag_tu.html#comment-22767991

Would love to hear what you think.

Adorable. I love it. Super easy tute. Thanks. Now which store did you find the pillowcase from? Is the inside a pc also?
Great job mama.

Yep just two pillow cases, one for the outside and one for the lining and the colours of both matched so well, kinda wished I'd signed up for the Dollar Store swap a while ago now that my Dollar store (Edmonton, Canada) has so much good loot!!

How come I never see great pillow cases like that at that price ($1.42 in Aussies dollars!!!) !!!! What a great design on the fabric - I can see why they took your fancy!. I love that bag pattern - I've made several. You did a wonderful job - I love the buttons for trim.
