This is my first project posted on Craftster's I hope you enjoy....This is one of two bags me and my daughter made for her teacher's. She graduates from kindergarden in 4 days Cry where has the time gone. This messenger bag is reversible. Both ways you wear it, it has a front pocket with 4 pen pockets and one med. pocket. I double stitched everthing. C/C welcome.... I'm really happy with the way it came out since I've only been sewing for about 4 months.

Reversed fabric view....You can also see I put both fabrics on the shoulder strap so it matches either way you wear it.

How cute is that?  I love the fabrics that you chose.  I'm sure the teacher was thrilled with it.  I'm new to sewing too and have been looking for a good messenger bag pattern.   If you used a pattern would you mind sharing which one it was? Thanks!

Nice work on the bag!  I'm a teacher and believe, we canNOT have too many bags to haul all of our junk around in!

Try this tute on craftster...

Messenger bags are fairly simple to make a pattern for.  If you read the directions on the few tutorials here on craftster, you could probably make your own dimensions, and follow their directions for putting it together.  You just have to decide how you want yours to close, where you want the pockets, etc...

Good luck!

I agree with everyone above: teachers ALWAYS need nice bags to haul their stuff around in, the fabrics on yours are FANTASTIIIC, and all those pockets rock!  Awesome job! Cheesy

Thanks everyone.... I did not use a pattern I just looked at a few tute's and came up with my own dimensions. I had a blast making this bag with my daughter.
