Stitchalicious.com - funking up embroidery!

This was the last piece of my recent stuff (I'll stop hounding you soon!). It turned out to be more goldwork technique than stumpwork, but sorta had a bit of both.

The star at the back is satin stitch, outlined with some couched funky metal-covered green threads I found at the Stitch show in the UK a few years ago. The pink bits are the same kind of thread, also couched down. The anchor is a fake leather fabric I've had hanging around for ages and is on layers of felt. It's outlined with purl, which I stretched a bit and ran some brown DMC through.

The rope was the worst thing to stitch EVER - the coils around the rope are ultra long bullion knots, with about 15 turns in each and each of them took about 5 minutes... count up how many there are! I did those over a brown wook core I needlefelted to get the shape I want.

That is absolutely beautiful!  I love the anchor over the star, your layout is eyecatching and truly makes the anchor just *pop*!

I love it!
