I went to the 10 cent sale at the attic monday. I was so excited to find a plaid skirt in a size that fit me... turned out they were a pair of short that didn't really fit me. So, I split the seems and crafted it into a sweet garter belt! I'm planning on making a bra to match (crosses fingers), and a corset once I find the boning.

thanks for gandering!

Oh , I'm so loving your garter belt.  I love how you remade the skirt.  I was thinking of re doing some of my busted bras and using the straps to make a garter .  Thanks for sharing.  Grin

cute! I love plaid!
If you make a matching bra are you just going to wing the pattern? Or cut apart an existing one and use that as the template?

I've already cut apart a bra where the underwire broke and I'm planning to use it as a pattern. I couldn't imagine winging a pattern for a bra... lol, things would go sour real fast.

What a great idea!  I've got so many skirts that fit but that I don't wear anymore because I mostly do dresses now.  This is a fantastic way to re-purpose them.  I particularly love the plaid.

That is so cute. You could wear it with black heels and make some black spats and you'd be cute as hell.
