She is hand sewn. I was attempting to use traditional materials and traditional construction techniques. The dolls face is blank like many traditional dolls. Her hair and stuffing is sinthetic, but not obviously. Her hair is so soft and I love to cuddle her.

Someone made me a similar doll when I read the 'Little House' books as a child. I remember begging for a long flannel nightgown and a quilt so that I could imagine I was in the books as I fell asleep. I loved that doll... Yours is lovely and I'm sure your partner will love it! The hair is my favorite part- so pretty!

I really like the dress and pinafore. Seems so right for this doll. The hair is awesome and I would love to know how you did that. It looks perfect.

Becaused I was hand sewing, I did the hair differently than I would a poppet. I took a single bundle of yarn tied in the center. The key is to make it a fat bundle of yarn. Tacked it to the front of the head and draped the hair around the head. The hair was then secured at the nape of the neck and tacked again to keep it in place. I love the yarn I used, it is so soft.

I loved reading those books. Sadly, I didn't do it until I was an adult. Your toys look authentic, and I love that you hand sewed the dolly.
