I made some outfits for my friend and I to go to the faire. The picture of her is a lot easier to see the costume, but it's the best I can do...

My costume (the gold one) has an entirely separate skirt underneath with a purple and gold brocade.

It was a very, very hot day, hence the reason we look a bit disheveled. By the time this picture was taken I'd tied my skirt up. It still got a lot of nettles in the hem, though. I'll add sleeves to mine later, but I was running short on time and the sleeves the pattern gave were not my favorite.

The purple dress is McCalls 4491. The gold one is Butterick 4827. I closed the backs up with zippers because we had a lot of trouble trying to put eyelets in. Next time, I'll figure it out...

(The sneakers really make it work, don't they?) :-P

I have lots of pictures of people in medieval costumes drinking coke, using mobiles, wearing hoodies...makes it far more fun! Good job, and persevere with the eyelets!

Nice work!  It looks comfortable unlike some Renaissance outfits I've worn  Grin
