So after several days of coloring, I SHRANK! Does everyone else get nervous for the moment of shrinking?  Fortunately, everything turned out great. In fact, better than expected. I spent way more time than expected on one of my pieces, but I think my partner will really like it.  So now I just have to finish off the details for each piece.  I think I will try to do one more dink, depending on how finishing touches go.

OMG, yes, I do!! It's so nerve-wracking! My greatest fear is that it won't uncurl or that it'll stick to itself. But I'm glad to hear yours went well -I'm getting excited for the gallery! Grin

I get so nervous when I go to shrink! I sometimes end up with a little "bowl" shape, no matter how long I leave it in the oven. So weird.

Try this, but you have to do it VERY carefully. Put your oven on broil (I know it says not to do this but try it anyway) and keep the door open! It should begin flattening almost instantly. You could try putting old ones back in there to get rid of the bowl too.

I did some shrinking today and I forgot to punch holes in some of my stuff. Angry Only some of it though.

I haven't even started yet Sad

I know what I am doing tho (mostly) so that is a HUGE stepping stone for me.  The shrinky dinks are easy to whip out in a few hours.  This swap will be a snap and yet I have a feeling the stuff we make will be awesome!

re: that bowl shape- I keep a piece of paper, folded over several times, nearby and as soon as I pull the shrinks out, I put the paper over them and flatten them out with my fingers- the paper prevents finger prints (and burns!)  You have to work fast, but it gets everything pretty flat.

I do the same thing with an old pad of water color paper.
