Hello Baaaaaby!

So This could be the biggest thing I have ever stitched.  For the Upcycle contest I recycled an old screen door and turned it into cool wall art. Using one of my favorite attractions at Disneyland as inspiration.

Here's close up of the stitching, I used backstitch, feather, whipstitch, blanket, stem and chain

Close up of the top

Close up of the Tiki (he came from the stitch it kit)

Close up of the flames

I put old xmas lights and an old Mylar door curtain (from one of the kids Birthday parties) behind the screen to look like it was raining (you know like the tiki room)
the room lights are on so you can only kinda see the xmas lights in this picture.  To cover the sides of the door I used old party leis I had lying around, I just cut them apart and blanket stitched them around. We have alot of Luaus at our house. LOL!

Here it is with the lights in the room off.

I love how it turned out.  My DH screwed it on to the wall by my front door so it greets everyone who comes over. Smiley

Aloha!

I am in love with this -all I can think about is embroidering on a screen since I saw this on flickr last night!  If you don't mind enlightening me what did you use for floss?

Yarn and kitchen cotton and I used a curved needle.  Grin
