There's a programme called Genius that we've been watching, bloke and I. It involves people pitching their 'genius' new ideas and inventions and a guest genius, along with the host Dave Gorman, decides whether it really is genius, or just stupid. Of course most of the ideas are thoroughly ridiculous, but one of them actually seemed pretty good, or at least very funny, to us.

The Torture Box is a place to put inanimate objects when they have annoyed us (keys, a fork, a plug etc), for the box to reek it's revenge with it's unknown torture devices. Since the Torture Box was first mentioned we have been regularly confining all manner of stupid and annoying inanimate objects to an imaginary torture box.

I thought it was about time I made a real working one instead.

Sorry, I can't show you the inside. It'd be too horrific Wink

Here's the programme link if you're interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/genius/
And the clip on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCnZ7cn5tWI

That show seems incredibly funny. I just love the idea of the torture Box and I believe yours is way prettier than the one the host had in the show.

I'm still really disappointed since I just saw the preview for a show similar to that on German TV and I though there must be finally a show we invented ourselves and did not steal from US TV.  Roll Eyes

That show is hilarious!

Your box looks too pretty to be horrific. Clever disguise. Wink My mobile phone would be in that box 90% of the time. Cheesy

It's actually a British show, but there may well be a US version too. I'm not sure if they like their crazy inventions like us Brits do though! Cheesy

The box is currently home to my pencil sharpener for chewing up my pencil. It's getting an hour in there! Cheesy

Don't worry about it, lots of brilliant shows ARE generally from there! Cheesy

I'd be interested to see what inventions are presented in a German version! Not that I could understand it, my bloke would have to translate as much as he could for me! Roll Eyes

That is hilarious! I think I need a torture box. I wonder if I could make it big enough to hold a teenager?   Grin

P.S. I like the paper you used on it.  Wink
