I'm experimenting with using stitching in different ways , and lately I've been using it to make greeting cards. I do some machine stitching, freeform, and then a little bit of hand embroidery to finish it off. I'm really liking this and think I'll be doing more in the future.



These are Mother's Day cards. I used 3"x5" watercolor paintings done by my toddler, pre-made blank cards, scrapbooking paper, machine and hand stitching, and my paper cutter for some decorative edging. Each one was personalized for the receiver: a quilt design for the quilter, a flower for the gardener, a bird for the bird watcher....

Very pretty! I had thought about making a embroidered card for mother's day, but all the other crafts took me up until the last minute to finish. I doubt mine would have turned out as awesome as yours did anyway.  Cheesy
