So it was my friend's birthday and i decided to make an earth cake  Cheesy
I basically completely copied the idea from here...

Graverobbergirl did something kinda complicated with cake tins which i didn't quite understand, but i fidugred it was just like a marble cake so i used that recipe and a LOT of red and orange food dye

Here it was before cooking:
of course, i got the colours the wrong way around  Undecided
I did a circle of brown, then red in the middle, then orange, then more brown!

this is a bit wibbly but it shows the colours better.

all covered up!

Then all iced up, i used train candle holders and a drew a red cross and stuck a flag in with her name on.
First i put on all the blue icing then i filled in the gaps with grean, and outlines it.
The icing was lemon flavour butter icing.

my other friend's is on the left - hers was DELICIOUS!!

I wanted it to come out as a small dome in the centre, circled with orange, and then brown all the way round
however i to get the bright red i had to add LOADS of food dye and even though i did add some flour it was still really runny, then the brown had lots of cocoa so was really heavy and it sunk.

It didn't come out how i wanted but it was still more exciting than a normal cake and looked pretty cool!

I really enjoyed making it it was so much fun!
And cutting it was really exciting. She was really happy.

Taste-wise it was really quite sweet, but the cake was quite moist. And it rose really well!

Most fun cake. ever.
kudos to graverobberirl

thank for looking

Very cool idea. Looks like it turned out fine! With some tweaking from what you learned this time, I think you'll have an awesome looking cake Smiley
